Thirteen-lined ground squirrels are uncommon in Alberta and their official status is “undetermined.” Nature Alberta and MacEwan University have initiated a citizen science project to help fill information gaps about their distribution and status. If you spot one of these elusive squirrels, please take a photograph and submit your observation to iNaturalist.
