The Citizen Science Alberta Community of Practice hosted a regional event as part of the 2022 C*Sci
Conference! On May 26 we watched keynote speaker Dr. Mónica Ramírez-Andreotta. Dr.
Ramírez-Andreotta is an Associate Professor of Environmental Science at the University of Arizona. Using
an environmental justice framework and participatory research methods, she investigates exposure
pathways and communication strategies to translate environmental health research to action and achieve
structural change. The presentation was followed by a discussion on how we can incorporate our learnings
into citizen science projects across Alberta.
