Water Quality Testing in the Elbow River Watershed

We will be testing and monitoring water quality at two locations in the Elbow River from the beginning of June until the end of October. The first site location is at Elbow Falls (Kanasaskis Conservation Pass required) and the second site location is in Redwood Meadows. Both sites will be tested on the same day, twice per month, by a minimum of two people.

Our water quality testing equipment has been provided by Creekwatch and we will be following their testing protocols and data templates.

Creekwatch is running a 2-hour training session for our volunteers on May 30 at 12PM at Elbow Falls. Please contact Andi (andi@erwp.org) if you would like to join. If you are unable to attend the training session but would still like to volunteer with water quality testing over the summer and fall, contact Andi anyways and they can arrange a plan for you.

This work requires rubber boots that have been properly disinfected to prevent the spread of whirling disease.
